Pleaserobme & Death Notices

Posted on: February 18, 2010

I see that there is a new website, www.pleaserobme.com .  The purpose of this site is to bring attention to those who Twitter (and chat on other social networking sites) that they could be setting themselves up for a robbery by telling the world their exact whereabouts at all times of the day and night.  Just as Twitter can alert burglars to a prime stealing location, the same runs true for funeral death notices.  Lets face it, a death notice informs the world when the bereaved family will be receiving guests for public visitation and attending the funeral of their deceased relative.  As a neighbour to a family who has had a death in the family, you would be extending a great kindness if you offered to keep an eye on the family home during the funeral visitation and service.  A funeral is tragic, but coming home to your burglarized home is devastating.
